Important Update: Changes to River City Vapes Shipping Policy – Effective January 1st

Dear Valued Customers,

We want to take a moment to inform you of an important update regarding our shipping policy at River City Vapes, effective January 1st. Due to the introduction of a new Alberta excise tax on vaping products, we regret to inform you that we will no longer be able to ship our products outside of Alberta. This change is driven by the increased costs and administrative burdens associated with shipping across Canada, which have been significantly impacted by the new provincial tax.

Why is this happening?

As you may know, the Alberta government has recently introduced an excise tax on vaping products, which adds a financial layer to the cost of production and distribution. While we fully support responsible regulatory measures, the tax has made it increasingly difficult for us to maintain affordable shipping options to provinces outside of Alberta without raising prices significantly.

The excise tax increases the overall cost structure of our business, and after careful consideration, we've determined that continuing to offer nationwide shipping would no longer be financially sustainable without passing on these additional costs to our customers. Unfortunately, the logistics and expenses involved in shipping vaping products across provincial borders would exceed what is reasonable for us to absorb or pass on without negatively impacting our service quality and customer satisfaction.

What does this mean for you?

  • Shipping within Alberta: Rest assured, we will continue to offer reliable shipping services for our customers within Alberta.

  • Shipping outside Alberta: Starting January 1st, we will no longer be able to fulfill orders outside the province. We understand this is disappointing news for our loyal customers across Canada, and we share in your frustration.

Why are we so disappointed?

We want to be transparent with you: we are not happy about this change. River City Vapes has always been committed to providing the best products and services to customers across Canada. We’ve worked hard to build a loyal community and offer convenient, affordable shipping options. It’s frustrating that regulatory changes outside of our control are making it more challenging to continue doing so.

We sincerely hope that in the future, the regulatory landscape will evolve in a way that allows us to offer nationwide shipping again. Until then, we’ll continue to focus on providing the highest-quality products and service to our Alberta customers.
